Understanding that our members are not all professional photographers and models, I am writing to explain the reasons we have rejected so many photos lately. Our workload as a two person operation is growing all the time because frankly, a number of our members simply don’t READ THE GROUP RULES and stay within the guidelines.
Here are the three biggest reasons for rejection....
“We only accept images that are in the Artistic Nude category or in our opinion would qualify as such”
“We do not accept images that are cropped in so close that the vagina dominates the piece, is posed with legs splayed or shot from the bottom up”
“We prefer full body shots, but will accept some cropped as tight as half body as long as the models head is not lopped off (No bodyscapes, please!)”
Quality and Artistic Nude vs. Nude Snapshot
“We only accept deliberately composed (no snapshots), decently exposed and lighted images WITH PLEASING BACKGROUNDS”
We are not professionals, but know what looks good and are trying to collect only quality work. When we consider a submission, pose, lighting and composition are the main three things we look at. The combination of these three things are what makes an image pleasing to the eye and what make a shot either an artistic nude or a nude snapshot.
We can be reasonably flexible with things like lighting and pose because we acknowledge that some of us are still learning, ourselves included. What we won’t accept are snapshots taken with little concern for composition and what unnecessary elements are captured in the background. Just because your model is naked and grinning from ear to ear is not reason to expect that we will accept your image into our gallery as art. If there is a pile of dirty clothes laying next to the bed, last nights cocktail glass and a half eaten sandwich on the night stand or a picture of Frank Zappa half in and half out of frame on the living room wall, then you’ve pretty much begged us to toss out your submission.
Like many of you, my muse and I do not have a real studio and have shot some or our stuff around our home. We always prep the room, tidy up, sometimes even moving pictures and furniture if required in an effort to make quality art. We expect that those of you who are serious about making artistic nudes vs snapshots will strive to do likewise if you expect us to accept your work here.
We hope that this has clarified what we are after. Please take a good look at our existing gallery before submitting and compare your work to what we’ve collected so far as this will prove to be a good guideline for whether it measures up.
Thanks to all who took the time to read.
Respectfully,
NudgeWink

Contributors
As I had to be away from DA for a while, I found some submissions had expired.
I would therefore like to hear from anyone who may be interested in becoming a contributor who would be able to help out by approving submissions to the group.
You should be aware of the group submission rules, and have a gallery that includes suitable work that fits the group theme.
If interested, please note me direct.
Thanks
Galleries Are Open
As NudgeWink has now handed over the reins to me, I have re-opened the galleries for submission. Submissions will be subject to approval, and must be in line with the group objectives. I will not be too harsh, but I will be looking for a minimum standard - i.e photographs must be well focused and well lit
Please note, I define "nude" as being a work of art in which the subject is substantially unclothed.
Nudgewink will remain in the group, at least as a member but I hope he will stay as co-founder.
I will at some point in the future be looking for some contributors to help suitable works and members.
In the meantime, I look forward to se
SEEKING SOMEONE TO ADOPT THIS GROUP.
I am the original founder of this group. A few months ago and for personal reasons, I found myself unable to dedicate enough time here to properly handle the administrators duties. In fairness to all our great members and gallery contributors, I passed the title of "Founder" to one of the groups members who had a good eye for art and was very excited about assuming that position.
A few days ago, that member requested me back as Founder, stating he could no longer continue in that role. A few hours later, he suddenly disappeared from deviantART. I have no idea of the circumstance of his page being pulled down, and although I wish to remain a
New mandate
There are now a few weeks that I am responsible for this unique group that is a tribute of women over 40 years. I'm a photographer since 20 years, I have always been convinced that anyone at any age can be beautiful and this group is a tribute to beautiful mature women.
I am very honored that NudgeWink trusted me and following good advice, I will continue the development of this group maintaining its initial objectives: choosing quality photos depicting pictures of women with artistic classy signature
Thanks!

Gosh, I just HATE when no one takes the time to prep a room before shooting. One of my pet peeves and thanks for bringing it to light!
